In Person at Dharmakaya Center for Wellbeing
191 Cragsmoor Road, Pine Bush, NY 12566
Event Description:
“This weekend was heartfelt and informative, full of foundational information and helpful for my freedom. I was able to see life and the world differently as a part of myself, myself of it.”
Inspired by the Wisdom Buddha Figure associated with the element earth and the Wisdom of Equality, Ratnasambhava, we will:
Cultivate inner and outer worlds of abundance and generosity
Attune to recognizing the inherent value and ultimate potential in all beings
Heal the suffering of divisiveness, superiority, and inferiority to which humans are vulnerable
The retreat will engage with this theme through imagination and creativity, meditation, warm-heartedness, connection with community and the natural world, embodied practice, music, rituals, and movement. There will be periods of silence as well as space for mindful conversation.
Event Highlights:
Instruction and support from experienced teachers
A thoughtful balance of meditation, contemplation, ritual, and rest periods
A supportive and friendly community of practitioners
Access to individual meditation support if needed
Q&A with teachers
Delicious all-vegetarian meals with locally-sourced ingredients

About the Leaders:
The child of Chinese immigrants, Viveka resides on Ohlone Land (San Francisco) and has spent 35 years at the intersection of social-racial-gender justice and spiritual practice. A senior meditation teacher, former San Francisco Buddhist Center Chair, and current President of the Triratna NY-NJ and Mexico City Sanghas, they lead retreats internationally with a trauma-informed approach. Viveka’s dharma teaching and community work as a facilitator and somatic coach and trainer centers on healing and radical inclusivity.
Silasiddhi has spent over 20 years pursuing two intertwined practices: meditation and photography. A student of Buddhism and an Order member of the Triratna Buddhist Community, he also works as a professor of photography. The two practices of meditation and photography have grown alongside each other, shaping how he sees and how he teaches.
