Event Description:
We’d like to invite you to an in-person practice day, where we come together in community for meditation, a dharma teaching, and fellowship.
Parinirvana Day is a festival day marking the final passing of the Buddha two and a half millennia ago. An opportunity to contemplate impermanence, rejoice in the example of the Buddha’s life, and reflect on the precious opportunity that our own lives present us with.
Holding an awareness of the Archetypal Buddha Ratnasambhava, we will consider the great impermanence of death in the context of death as a gift, and the sensitization that impermanence brings to our experience of loving life.
We will celebrate through meditation, reflection, ritual and embodiment exercises.
Join us at the New York Zendo (223 E 67th St, New York, NY 10065) for a morning of meditation, discussion, ritual, and connecting with community, followed by lunch at 1:15 p.m. @Le Botaniste UES, which serves 100% organic, plant-based food. You can find it at 833 Lexington Avenue (between 63rd & 64th St).
This event is OPEN TO ALL—all are welcome.
