Event Description:

Join us for our monthly Sangha night community gathering with Vimalasara, visiting us from our Vancouver Triratna Community! Vimalasara will present With Open-Handed Generosity, We Purify Our Hearts. Please join us for meditation, Dharma teaching, and discussion, focusing on the connection between this precious precept and the wisdom of Ratnasambhava.

Sangha Nights are a special, once-a-month opportunity for the Triratna NY-NJ community to come together for an evening of Dharma programming and companionship. We gather on Zoom for meditation, Dharma talk and input, discussion groups, and reflections — all held within the context of spiritual friendship and community.

About the Leader:

Vimalasara is an experienced Order Member in the Triratna Buddhist Community. They are trained in mindfulness and are one of the founding facilitators of Dr. Gabor Mate’s Compassionate Inquiry and also trained in Internal Family Systems. They have also completed short intensive training in Embodied Somatics, Breathworks and Shamanism training. The award-winning author of ten books, including Detox Your Heart: Meditations for Emotional Trauma, Eight Step Recovery: Using The Buddha’s Teachings to Overcome Addiction, and more recently, their shortlisted book for two Canadian Awards, I’m Still Your Negro: An Homage to James Baldwin. Their most recent book is A First Aid Kit for the Mind – Breaking the Cycle of Habitual Behaviours.
