Event Description:
Join us at the Zendo to celebrate Padmasambhava, an important figure in the Buddhist tradition and in the Triratna Buddhist Community.
Padmasambhava Day celebrates the birth of Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche, on the tenth lunar day of the lunar month that begins in September. Padmasambhava is a mythical and historical figure in Tibetan Buddhism who is sometimes called the Second Buddha. He is credited with introducing Vajrayana Buddhism to Tibet and establishing the first Buddhist monastery there in the 8th century. Padmasambhava Day is a time to honor his contributions and ask for his blessings for protection, peace, and spiritual growth.
Join us at the New York Zendo (223 E 67th St, New York, NY 10065) for a morning of meditation, discussion, ritual, and connecting with community, followed by lunch at 1:15 p.m. @Le Botaniste UES, which serves 100% organic, plant-based food. You can find it at 833 Lexington Avenue (between 63rd & 64th St).
