Monday Night Drop-In: Meditating With Receptivity

Meditating With Receptivity
Led By: Padmadharini and Tamojyoti
Each Monday evening from May 5th to May 26th, 2025
6:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. EST

Online via Zoom

Description:

Every Monday night, join us for a welcoming class designed to nurture your mind, heart, and spirit. Each month, we’ll explore a new theme that draws from mindfulness, Buddhist teachings, and practical tools for daily life.

🌿 May’s Theme: Meditating with Receptivity
🌿 Drop-in format: Come to any or all sessions — no commitment required!
🌿 Open to everyone, no experience necessary.

From guided meditations to thought-provoking discussions, each session is a chance to reflect, grow, and connect.

Living with lots of structure and demands on our time can be tiring! Learning how to sit and “just be” can be a vital counter to a culture of “doing.” It can take time, practice, and even effort to learn how to “not do” and just be receptive.

During May’s Monday night drop-ins, we’ll learn techniques to undo patterns of “striving” and “achievement” that might be impeding us from being awake to the present moment. We will learn to sit with our experience with spaciousness, clarity, and sensitivity.

Agenda:

  • Brief meditation

  • Check-in

  • Week’s leader will discuss the material

  • Small group discussion

  • Reconvene with the entire class

  • Short closing meditation (if time permits)

About the Leaders:

Padmadharini is a courageous and dedicated meditation practitioner. She has attended around 3 years of cumulative meditation retreats, during which she has tried out various approaches to insight. She is trained and educated in modalities that support going deeper in meditation.
