Monday Night Drop-In: The Wheel of Life

The Wheel of Life
Led By: Srisara and Suryapala
Each Monday evening from July 7th to July 28th, 2025
6:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. EST

Online via Zoom

Description:

Every Monday night, join us for a welcoming class designed to nurture your mind, heart, and spirit. Each month, we’ll explore a new theme that draws from mindfulness, Buddhist teachings, and practical tools for daily life.

🌿 July’s Theme: The Wheel of Life
🌿 Drop-in format: Come to any or all sessions — no commitment required!
🌿 Open to everyone, no experience necessary.

From guided meditations to thought-provoking discussions, each session is a chance to reflect, grow, and connect.

For the month of July, we will explore the Wheel of Life

A demon clutches a wheel with 4 hubs, reflecting the human condition. Round and round we go, sometimes landing in the god realm, the animal realm, the hell realm. Join us to learn more about this fascinating symbol from Tibetan Buddhism and — crucially — how you get off the wheel.

Drop in each week, or as often as you can, for discussions led by Order Members and supported by our practice community.

Agenda:

  • Brief meditation

  • Check-in

  • Week’s leader will discuss the material

  • Small group discussion

  • Reconvene with the entire class

  • Short closing meditation (if time permits)

About the Leaders:

Srisara is a devoted Buddhist and a long-time member of the Triratna Buddhist Community. She was ordained in 2018 and is the first “homegrown” order member, having first come in contact with Triratna in New York City in 2003.

Srisara weaves Buddhism into all aspects of her life, including her work as a psychotherapist, and delights in the teachings on impermanence and our extraordinary capacity toward change. She feels most at home in nature and brings a wealth of practice and experience to her teachings.

Suryapala is an Ordained Buddhist in the Triratna Buddhist Community and has been practicing meditation regularly for six years. He began his Buddhist journey in the United Kingdom and for the last several years has been an active member of the New York/New Jersey sangha.
