Event Description:
Hosted live from Aryaloka, USA! An online celebration of Triratna: our International Buddhist Community
In the mid-1970s, Triratna was emerging as a bold new Buddhist movement. Sangharakshita set out its offering in his poem Four Gifts and a series of lectures entitled Buddhism for Today — and Tomorrow. Together, these expressed the core of Triratna’s vision: a creative presentation of the Buddha’s teaching, rooted in tradition and shaped for modern life.
50 years on, we’ll be taking a fresh look at these four gifts by meeting members of our community in the places around the world where they are living out this fourfold vision.
Hosted by Jnanadhara, our International Movement Coordinator, live from Aryaloka Buddhist Center in New Hampshire, USA.

We start the day meditating with the Aryaloka sangha as part of their in-person Triratna Day celebrations. We’ll meet members of the Dharmachakra team as they embark on a new project for Free Buddhist Audio to restore and renew all of Sangharakshita’s talks for greatly enhanced listening. It’s almost as good as being there live! You’ll get to hear a sample of the remastered Buddhism for Today — and Tomorrow talks, and Kalyanaprabha will also launch a brand-new presentation of them from Windhorse Publications in book form.

He’ll talk to them about the significance of ordination, and we’ll meet two women and two men who are taking this important step on the path of the Dharma. Lastly, Parami will give us a sneak peek into a new podcast series from members of the College of Public Preceptors.

Jnanadhara is originally from New Zealand, where he met the Triratna Community. He was ordained into the Triratna Buddhist Order in 2003 and was chair of the Dublin Buddhist Centre for 12 years.
